Volunteer of the Month

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Helen Keller

Volunteers make our community thrive

All thanks to an anonymous donor we are able to promote “Volunteer of the Month” along with a small token of our appreciation all while supporting small businesses in Spiritwood.

For July we honor a community member who has been dedicated to our community for many years. Cari Cross is the July Volunteer of the Month! She offers her vast knowledge with fundraisers and events, always offering great ideas to help make the event run smooth and successfully. To name a few, Cari has been hands on with projects such as Folk Fest, Pie in the Eye, Spiritwood Spirited Players, Community Auction, Wine Survivor, and the list goes on….Many of these fundraisers would not be made possible without Cari! Thank you for all you do!

Jill Mayo is our June Volunteer of the Month. She is always up for a challenge and tackles any fundraiser or event that comes her way. She goes above and beyond for our community and it does not go unnoticed. Thank you Jill for everything you do for our community, it is truly appreciated! From the Members of our community we thank you!

Our May Volunteer of the Month is Paul Durette! Pauls efforts and commitment to SADSAAC Park is greatly appreciated. We are grateful for the progress made at the ball diamonds and he is a big reason for that change. He is always up to a project, no matter the size. Thank you Paul for being a part of our community. From the members of our community we thank you!

For the month of April we thank Barb Szasz for her volunteering over the years. She had made many community fundraisers, events and projects possible. From Mega 50/50 to the Community Calendars and everything in between she has made them what they are today. Her  generosity volunteering is seemingly endless, she is a true inspiration to our community. Thank you Barb!

We salute Ed Szasz as our volunteer of the month from March! Ed’s tireless efforts over the years have been noticed – he often volunteers not only his leadership and expert salesmanship but also his accounting skills. Ed has been a key member of Spiritwood Rec Lotto, SARCS Chase the Ace, Spiritwood Bull Riding  and Mega Cash Lotto. When you see Ed around town, make sure you give him a pat on the back for all that he does, and when he asks you to buy a ticket…do it! Thank you, Ed, for all the hard work, the great ideas and the guidance as our trusted leader of the many committees on which you serve.

Les has put in many years of volunteering for our community. He puts his heart and soul into this community and it has not gone unnoticed. We are fortune to have him promoting, organizing and participating in countless fundraisers, programs, and activities throughout the years. Thank you, Les!

Jason is an active volunteer in our community, and more specifically, in the Curling Rink. The work and time Jason spends on the Ice surface shows just how big his heart is. His dedication is an inspiration to our community. Thank you, Jason!
